The objective of this thesis was to understand the relationship between the Brazilian laicity and Sabbath observance by the Seventh-day Adventists. In order to do that, a study of the origin of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDAC) helped to pin down the importance of the Sabbath for that church.
