The landscape matrix has been considered to act as a barrier that influences the dispersal, diversity, and persistence of some species of fauna, but its importance has not been evaluated in detail for arboreal primates. Research on the genusAlouattahas reported terrestrial movements between forest patches suggesting certain behavioral plasticity that helps the efficient use of resources in reduced fragments. In addition to the use of the matrix for travel, it has been estimated, forAlouatta pigra, a high percentage of time spent on rest in this type of coverage. Here we report two occasional records of the use of savannas for resting and foraging by individuals ofAlouatta seniculus, in a transition zone between the humid forest of the foothills and the drained savannas of the altillanura in the department of Meta,Colombia. ; Se ha considerado que la matriz del paisaje actúa como una barrera que influye en la dispersión, diversidad y persistencia de algunas especies de fauna, pero su importancia no ha sido evaluada en detalle para primates arborícolas. Investigaciones del géneroAlouattahan reportado desplazamientos terrestres entre parches de bosque sugiriendo cierta plasticidad comportamental que ayuda al uso eficiente de recursos en fragmentos reducidos. Adicionalmente al uso de la matriz para desplazamiento, se ha estimado paraAlouatta pigra, un alto porcentaje de tiempo destinado al descanso en este tipo de cobertura. Aquí reportamos dos registros ocasionales del uso de sabanas para el descanso y forrajeo por parte de individuos deAlouatta seniculusen una zona de transición entre el piedemonte y sabanas drenadas de la altillanura, en el departamento del Meta, Colombia.
