Kunst und Gegenreformation in den südlichen Niederlanden, 1560-1660

Although this exhibition can be considered one of the greatest overviews of Flemish painting ever shown between 1550 and 1650, the painting genre is hardly represented. It is at least as important as any other. What is meant are the large-format religious paintings, those pictures that were created for churches, monasteries and chapels, be it for high or side altars, for altars of guilds or private foundations. Why are such exhibits missing?
