Abstract Background The early to intermediate stages of the majority of colorectal tumours are thought to be driven by aberrations in the Wnt ( APC , CTNNB1 ) and Ras ( K-ras ) pathways. A smaller proportion of cancers shows mismatch repair deficiency.
