This report looks at various moments at which decisions can be made during the development of a system for the measurement of performance in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. Particular attention is devoted to the decision-making moments during the first two phases of the development process: the definition of the need for information and the design of a draft performance measurement system. The discussion on the different alternatives and the consequences of certain choices is based on (a) a study of the literature focusing on applications, and (b) a reflection on a few empirical studies that have been - or are to be - carried out within LEI. ; In dit rapport wordt ingegaan op diverse keuzevraagstukken bij de ontwikkeling van een prestatiemeetsysteem op het gebied van duurzaam en maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen. In het bijzonder wordt stilgestaan bij de vraagstukken tijdens de eerste twee fasen van het ontwikkelingsproces: de definitie van de informatiebehoefte en het ontwerp van een concept-prestatiemeetsysteem. De discussie over de verschillende alternatieven en de consequenties van bepaalde keuzen is gebaseerd op (a) bestudering van toepassingsgerichte literatuur en (b) reflectie op enkele empirische studies die binnen het LEI zijn of worden uitgevoerd.
