During the first days of March 1616 the fleet led by the Dutch Joris van Spilbergen set in the Philippine region of Mariveles, from this place, they assaulted as many ships as they saw. The presence of the VOC fleet broke the daily life of this space, allowing us to access details about the Philippine domestic trade and the life of the people who sailed its waters. La presencia de la flota de la VOC rompió la cotidianidad de este espacio, permitiéndonos acceder a detalles tanto del comercio interior filipino como de la vida de las gentes que surcaban sus aguas, así como a apreciar cómo este territorio no era una pieza aislada del resto del globo, sino que estuvo fuertemente vinculado e influenciado por los procesos y sucesos acontecidos en el resto del mundo, siendo una muestra de las conexiones originadas tras la primera globalización.
