Information Literacy in the Netherlands: Rise, Fall and Revival

International audience ; This contribution describes and reflects on the development of Information Literacy in the Dutch curriculum for secondary education in the early 1980s, its place in the curriculum in the 1990s and its evaporation early 2000. After a decade without any attention for Information Literacy in the curriculum, the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences called for a revival of Information Literacy early 2013. Based on lessons learned from the past, we will finish our contribution with some reflections on this initiative and describe emerging opportunities
