International audience ; This contribution focuses on the European project devised by the Austrian pacifist Alfred Hermann Fried (1864-1921) during the Great War, and endeavours to bring out the originality of this project by comprehending the « overall constellation » (Fernand Braudel) it is part of. It also aims to consider the development, heritage and ulterior reappropriation of this eminently complex thinking by replacing it in a dynamic medium-term perspective. ; Centrée sur le projet européen forgé par le pacifiste autrichien Alfred Hermann Fried (1864-1921) durant la Grande Guerre, cette contribution s’attache à en faire apparaître l’originalité en saisissant la « constellation d’ensemble » (Fernand Braudel) dans laquelle celui-ci s’inscrit. Elle vise également à interroger l’évolution, les héritages et les réappropriations a posteriori d’une pensée éminemment complexe en la replaçant dans une perspective dynamique relevant de la moyenne durée.
