This article examines 20 studies on the remuneration of men and women in the Netherlands, where the influence of nine groups of factors was viewed: human capital, industry, job classification, job level, glass ceiling, firm size, working hours, gender-composition of occupation, and family building and career breaks. The effect of industry has only been investigated at the aggregate level, and turns out to be advantageous for women in the public industry.
