Application of Career Counseling Based on Holland's Theory for Selection of Majors in Higher Education for High School Students in Gowa Regency

The results showed that (1) the level of career planning in the experimental group at the time of the pretest was in the low to moderate category and the control group was in the medium to high category. At the time of the post-test, the experimental group increased to the high category and the control group remained in the medium to high category. (2) The implementation of career counseling based on Holland's theory is carried out through 6 meetings, namely pre-counseling, problem presentation, exploring self-awareness, exploring educational opportunities and job opportunities, making tentative decisions and developing action plans, and termination. (3) There are differences in the level of career planning in choosing majors in tertiary institutions for students who are given treatment and students who are not given treatment.
