La arquitectura holandesa de las primeras tres décadas del siglo XX ofrecía una gran variedad de tendencias, desde Berlage y la Escuela de Amsterdam hasta el movimiento De Stijl y los funcionalistas de «De 8», que necesariamente despertó el interés de los arquitectos europeos y, entre ellos, de los españoles. En este artículo se estudia la información que tuvieron los arquitectos españoles a través de las páginas de la revista Arquitectura en su primera etapa (1918-1936).Los arquitectos españoles se interesaron tanto por los más «convencionales» -Berlage y la Escuela de Amsterdam- como por la opción más radical de los arquitetos stijlians y funcionalistas, sin tomar partido en la «polémica» interior holandesa. Vieron el ambiente arquitectónico holandés como un conjunto lleno de posibilidades, mostrando cierta preferencia por unos u otros sin «vivir» las fuertes oposiciones entre éstos. ; Dutch architecture of the first three decades of this century offered a great variety of artistic trends, from Berlage and the Amsterdam Schoo to the De Stijl movement and the functionalists of «De 8» and aroused the interest to Spanish architects in the pages of the journal Arquitectura during its first phase (1918-1936).Spanish architects were intereted both in more «convectional» artist such as Berlage and the Amsterda School and in the more radical line followed by the Stilj architects and functionalists, without, however, taking part in the internal debate raging in Holland. They viewed the architectural scene in Holland as a rich source of possibilites, and took one «side» or the other without really experiencing the strong tensions exiting between them.
