A time to heal : Eccl 3:3 and Luke 9:37-43.
In this famed passage from Ecclesiastes, the Preacher tells us that everything has its time. There is a kind of inexorable quality to the events of life that might be envisioned as a cosmic ferris wheel in which each seat stops at the gate to take on or discharge passengers. Over this chain of events the Preacher doesn't think we have much control.
