In Rudiger Vael's architecture, a concept stands out which is difficult to find in modern buildings, and even more difficult to conjugate with being functional: that is, fantasy. In effect, the fantasy of the interior spaces and the façades of Vael defines in his works a singular and attractive atmosphere, due to a great degree to the use of different levels in the differentiation of spaces —different levels which at the same time serve to integrate the different ambients, avoiding static forming of compartments by walls—, of dynamic roofing in slate supported on a wooden framework seen from the inside, and a very personal woodwork on the façade, in the form of a triangle, which lends the architecture a gothic reminiscence integrated in the planning and design of a modern construction.
