Trying to find grass under the snow, the black and white pinto horse offers a photographic contrast to the large, metal roofed Gambrel-Dutch style barn in the background. A full-length attached side shed has been built on one side of the barn constructed during the 1920s located near No. 6 and Rein roads southeast of Ellensburg, Washington. The size of the barn would indicate the farm had a large hay and livestock operation.
