This paper is an overview of the performance of the Dutch Reformed Church in the Captaincy of Paraíba, one of the territories conquered by the Dutch West India Company and kept under its control for twenty years. The reformed missions began in 1636 and lasted until 1654, when several ministers mainly directed the indigenous people's catechization, creating missions in Paraíba for this purpose.
