“VIEW OF DUTCH TOWN, PATTERSON, N. Y.”

View from east of the railroad tracks (toward the west, southwest) of the houses built along Orchard St and Locust St by Jacob Stahl for the workers at his cigar factory. The workers were Central European, not “Dutch.” Washing on a line, animal pens, sheds, outhouses, and the windmill and watertower for this development are visible. In the background on the left are the Robinson Buildings along Main St, and on the right possibly the Rev. Benedict house and the steeple of the Prebysterian Church.
