In this interior photograph, Robert Matthews, vice-president and general manager of the Brockway division, greets Donald (Dutch) Hoag, legendary racing driver and five time winner of the Langhorne National Open, at the Grand Opening of the Brockway Elmira Branch in 1968. Hoag, of Bath, New York was sponsored by and associated with Penn Yan Express Inc., where he had driven trucks for many years. In addition to driving race cars,, Hoag also participated in Brockway Huskie time trials at the Westhampton Drag Strip and Bridgehampton Race Circuit, sponsored by Car and Driver Magazine in 1966. The two men stand to the right of one of Hoag's cars, as a group of guests mingle in the background. A sign hanging on the concrete block wall reads BROCKWAY Proudly Presents DUTCH HOAG. Photos below the sign feature Hoag participating in the Brockway Time Trials. A enlarged framed photo stands next to the other photos and features Hoag standing at the open cab door of the K359T as he prepares to race on the drag strip at the Westhampton Drag Strip.
