One typed page of a letter, dated 11 April 1984, from Abdul Samad Minty, Director of the Anti-Apartheid Movement, to the Ambassador, Embassy of France in Oslo, Mme Christiane Malitchenko, asking for action from the French government after a Danish court conviction about the shipment of arms and ammunition to South Africa, in breach of the United Nations mandatory arms embargo of 1977. One handwritten note in blue ink on yellow paper, dated 17 January 1986, stating that identical letters were sent to the Oslo Embassies of France, FRG, Italy, Bulgaria; Rumania; Yugoslavia, Portugal and Belgium and second letters were sent when there were no replies. One typed page on Anti-Apartheid Movement letterhead, undated, setting out charges 6 and 14 and voyages numbers 24 and 25 from Bordeaux in France to Durban in South Africa, when vessels from the shipping company Vesta, Svenborg, transported ammunition in breach of of the United Nations mandatory arms embargo of 1977. Two pages of a published newspaper article by Peter Durisch, published in The Observer, Sunday 29 April 1984, on how South Africa bought weapons from the Communist bloc, to support the rebel groups in Angola and Mozambique, and how it was transported by the Sarah Poulsen to Durban. The article contains photographs of the persons involved, the Sarah Poulsen and the signed documents.
