This article tries to evaluate the evolution of both the status and the content of geography’s textbooks in the French part of Belgium. With this aim in view, three periods are analysed : before the renovation of the teaching, the years 1980-1990 and today. Through the mutations, narrows links are confirmed between the teaching’s aims and the role devoted to the textbooks. ; L’article tente de dresser un bilan de l’évolution du statut et du contenu des manuels scolaires de géographie en Belgique francophone. À cette fin, il analyse successivement trois périodes : avant la rénovation de l’enseignement, les années 1980-1990 et celle d’aujourd’hui. À travers les changements, tout confirme les liens étroits entre la finalité de l’enseignement et le rôle dévolu aux manuels.
