I argue for the preservation of the course of non-religious, humanist ethics in schools, and against its replacement by a mandatory course in philosophy. Youngsters should be trained to reason about questions of right and wrong, and to make their own founded choices; since they are thaught the 3 R's, biology and languages as well. If not, only religions will be teaching ethics.
