The oil palm integration programme was implemented by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) in the Ninth Malaysia Plan as a catalyst for the target of increasing oil palm smallholders’ income. Oil palm integration programme is a programme that integrates oil palm with livestock and/or crops. The question is, does the oil palm smallholder implement the oil palm integration and to what extent the sustainability of oil palm integration is practiced by the oil palm smallholder? This article aims to compare the implementation and sustainability of palm oil integration among smallholders in Johor and Sabah. A total of 140 palm oil smallholders in Johor and 130 smallholders in Sabah will be analyzed using descriptive statistics to answer the objective of the study. The results of the study are expected to be used for improvement to the implementation of palm oil integration among smallholders in the two states.
