The present research was carried out based on a mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology, which took into account the preparation of interviews and surveys that determined the protection and conservation of immovable material cultural heritage by the public administration in the period 2016- 2020 in Sabanalarga-Atlántico. It was determined that the municipality of Sabanalarga Atlántico in the 2016-2020 period lacks state policies and citizen initiatives to protect and preserve the real estate that are part of the cultural heritage in good condition. Likewise, it was identified that the cultural patrimonialization by the inhabitants of Sabanalarga-Atlántico; they are aware of the existence of assets declared cultural heritage in the municipality; that is, they identify and know the presence of having cultural heritage, attributing value to it due to its historical context.
