The article is about the espionage practice within the Sabaudian states on the eve of the 1686-1714 wars. After an initial historiographical premise on the subject, the analysis of Sabaudian Intelligence will be contextualised within the dynamics of state building through the analysis of some of the founding works of the modern state.
