Founding Father: Johan Willem Beyen (1897-1976), Netherlands

After the Second World War, Beyen would become the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Netherlands. During his tenure, he envisioned regional cooperation—drawing up the Beyen Plan, which called for an integrated European market. While he was often overlooked, his plans were important in being the catalyst for further European projects. ; https://uknowledge.uky.edu/world_europe_journey/1011/thumbnail.jpg
