Evaluación integrada de prácticas y diseño de políticas agrarias orientadas a la multifuncionalidad y la sostenibilidad: Aplicación a sistemas agrarios olivareros de Andalucía y lecheros de los Países Bajos. ; Integrated evaluation of agricultural practices and design of policies towards multifunctionality and sustainability: the case of the olive growing in Andalusia and dairy farming systems in Netherlands.

In this PhD Thesis it is developed an integrated methodological framework in order to assess the multifunctional performance of farming systems and define farming techniques more sustainable economic, environmental and socially, and designing agricultural policies that promote the adoption of optimal farming techniques. For this purpose, different methodologies for economic valuation, integrated modeling, stakeholder analysis, and multi-criteria evaluation are combined. The methodological framework is developed and applied to two case studies, the olive groves of Andalusia and intensive dairy... Mehr ...

The methodological framework is developed and applied to two case studies, the olive groves of Andalusia and intensive dairy farms in the north of the Netherlands, which are agricultural systems of high economic, social and environmental significance in their respective regions. The underlying hypothesis in the thesis, which has been proven, is that the most sustainable agricultural techniques globally are not being implemented by farmers currently, in both agricultural systems, because they are not adequately considered in the design of agricultural and agro-environmental public policies the public and private benefits and costs of all stakeholders and all market and non-market functions of agricultural systems at farm and / or landscape level. Thus, the ultimate goals of the research are: 1) prioritize the non-market functions of the two analysed farming systems according to societal demands to agriculture; 2) identify optimal farming techniques and technology packages according to their multifunctional performance and global sustainability at farm and / or landscape level and define the needed changes in current farming techniques to achieve higher levels of sustainability; and 3) define efficient political mechanisms to promote effective change in the techniques implemented by farmers in order to achieve the adoption of farming techniques or technological packages of greater global sustainability in both farming systems. ; En la presente Tesis Doctoral se desarrolla un marco metodológico integrado con el fin de evaluar el comportamiento ...
