Our Men in Berlin. The Netherlands Military Mission to the Allied Control Council for Germany

In 1945 a Netherlands Military Mission was accredited to the Allied Control Council for Germany. This was a diplomatic mission that was the ears, eyes and mouth of the Dutch government in occupied Germany. Additionally, the mission played a key role in the settlement of several post-war issues. In this contribution the author discusses how and the extent to which the mission was able to safeguard Dutch interests in Germany in the immediate post-war period of 1945-1949.
