The writings of Rudolf Snellius. .A contribution to the history of Ramism in the NetherlandsPeter Ramus played a considerable part in the reorientation of science and philosophy in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, but the history of Ramism is still a rather neglected subject. In this article, a bibliography is provided of the most important Dutch follower of Ramus, the Leiden professor in mathematics Rudolf Snellius (1546-1613). His writings, which are not so rare as once was thought, show the breath of his interests (ranging from arithmetics and geometry to rhetoric and ethics). Furthermore, being mainly printed in Germany, they point out how closely connected the development of Ramism in the Netherlands was with the history of Ramism in Germany. Finally, they show Snellius to have been a scholar of international standing.
