The study deals with the peacemaking ceremony which took place in Aix-la-Chapelle (Aachen) on 21st June 1372, as well as with the Jean Froissart's narration of this event. The members of the Luxembourg dynasty, Emperor Charles IV, his son Wenceslas IV and Charles' step-brother Wenceslas, duke of Luxembourg and of Brabant, concluded peace with Wilhelm, duke Julich.
