This article presents the tapestry Hercules and the Mares of Diomedes in the Alba collection (Dueñas Palace, Seville). It forms part of a Hercules series along with others in the Royal Museum of Brussels and in a private collection. They have been attributed to an anonymous artist from Brussels and dated circa 1570. Here they are linked to an anonymous Flemish artist familiar with Peter Coecke van Aelst’s series of The Life of Saint Paul, and it is suggested that Jan Tons, specialized in animal paintings, may have collaborated on these works. In addition the author studies the motifs represented in the borders of the tapestries, copied from prints by Peter Brueghel the Elder and from the tapestry Saint Martin Leaving the City based on a composition by Bosch. This analysis permits new conclusions concerning the dating of these tapestries. ; El texto presenta un tapiz de la Colección Casa de Alba (Palacio de las Dueñas, Sevilla) que figura Hércules y las yeguas de Diomedes. La pieza forma parte de una serie con ejemplares conservados en el Museo Real de Bruselas y en colección privada atribuida a un anónimo licero y cartonista bruselés de hacia 1570. Su concepción se relaciona aquí con un anónimo autor flamenco conocedor de los tapices de la Vida de San Pablo de Peter Coecke van Aelst. El texto aborda la posible participación del animalista Jan Tons en la serie y estudia la presencia en sus cenefas de motivos copiados de estampas de Peter Brueghel el Viejo y del tapiz San Martín saliendo de la ciudad según una composición de El Bosco, que permite hacer alguna precisión respecto a su datación.
