OBJECTIVE: The effect of an intervention on neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS), particularly agitation and aggression, and psychotropic drug use (PDU) in institutionalized people with young-onset dementia (YOD) was evaluated. METHODS: A randomized controlled trial was conducted using a stepped wedge design.
