Abstract Background Twenty years ago, the Dutch Protocol—consisting of a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) to halt puberty and subsequent gender-affirming hormones (GAHs)—was implemented to treat adolescents with gender dysphoria.
