Collection box for the Old Men's Almshouse: "gedenk den armen ouderdom"
Collection boxes such as this were used by the inhabitants of the almshouses for old men. Similar boxes are depicted in the painting of the Inhabitants of St. Job's Hospice, by Jan van Bijlert, 1630-1635 (Utrecht, Centraal Museum).
