Seeking Access to Long-Term Care: Legal Consciousness of Dutch Retirement Migrants on the Costa Blanca

As EU citizens, Dutch retirement migrants can move and reside freely within the European Union. This enables their fluid migratory pattern and the formation of transnational ties between the Netherlands and Spain. However, national laws and nationally organised welfare systems within the EU may bind some retirement migrants to one of the two countries.
