Mémoire sur une Balénoptère capturée dans l'Escaut en 1869

In 1869, a whale was captured in the Schelde estuary near Vlissingen (Netherlands). The author was able to save the whole skeleton of this Balaenoptera , and gives an extensive description of all parts of it, with drawings. The animal is identified as Balaenoptera musculus and a list of observations for this species at the Belgian and Dutch coasts since 1765 is given.
