Exterior detail, central section of the north facade ; The Dutch government was committed to building the museum after the Kroller-Muller family had offered their valuable collection on permanent loan, a severe new section by the architect W.G. Quist was added 1975-1977, a corridor joining the east side by the sculpture gallery links the new pavilion with the old building.
