peer reviewed ; Through the analysis of seven vignettes, this paper reports on the evolution of the countryside in the East of Wallonia and points out a renewed interest in natural and cultural heritages. Three days of fieldtrip in the Entre-Vesdre-et-Meuse and in the Ardennes allowed presenting the new features of the Walloon countryside and forests and reflecting on the balance of heritage and innovations.
