This research paper is part of the general study of the steel industry in Wallonia. It aims to shed a new light on this topic from a different perspective: the analysis of the actors’ logic and their responsibilities in the major decisions taken in this industry, as far as its future and its continued existence are concerned. The study is limited to the analysis of regional industrial policy decisions in a period of 30 years of Walloon steel industry, more specifically within the Cockerill-Sambre company. Similarly, this subject can be considered within the context of progressive weakening of the mechanisms of social dialogue (between employers, trade unions and the state) developed for decision making within the steel industry (and on other matters of public interest), which are being replaced by other mechanisms in which neither the state nor workers are significantly involved. ; (POLS - Sciences politiques et sociales) -- UCL, 2014
