This article discusses poetical evolutions in Jesuit theater in Flanders through a comparison between plays of the seventeenth and eighteenth century. While most research in the field of Jesuit theater focusses on the first centuries of the order, disregarding the eighteenth century because of its decreased social relevance, this article surveys significant changes in the eighteenth-century plays.
