Insights on deepwater turbidite sedimentary features from outcrops in onshore Northwest Sabah, Malaysia

Abstract This paper discusses findings of sedimentary features observed from deepwater outcrops in Northwest Sabah. The observations were based on 7 outcrop localities of Lower Oligocene – Upper Oligocene sections around Klias and Kudat Peninsulas, and Kota Kinabalu, covering Temburong, Belait, West Crocker, and Kudat formations. Temburong Formation (Lower Oligocene-Lower Miocene) was observed at Menumbok (Stop 1) and Tanjung Aru (Stop 2).
