[463] Sloanea latifolia (Rich.) K.Schum. (Fig. 22D) Fl. Bras.[Martius] 12 (3): 173 [1 Nov. 1886] (Schumann 1886). — Blondea latifolia Rich., Actes Soc. Hist. Nat. Paris 1: 110 [Oct. 1792] (Richard 1792 ). Sloanea corymbiflora DC., Prodr. [A. P. de Candolle] 1: 516 [mid Jan. 1824] (Candolle 1824). Sloanea inermis Ducke, Arch. Inst. Biol. NOTE. — Richard (1792: 110) along with the description of Blondea latifolia did not cite any specimen. Pennington (2016: 15) and Pennington and Wise (2017: 76) cited the type of this name as “ French Guiana (Cayenne), fl., LeBlond 219 (holotype, P; isotype, G)”. These citations cannot be treated as an inadvertent lectotypification because, being published after 2001, they should have been accompanied by “here designated” or a similar expression. In addition, there are three specimens of Blondea latifolia at P that were collected by Leblond, with the locality “ ad amnem Kourou ” (Kourou River), each with a different label, no collector number, and with barcodes P02440486, P02440487, and P02440488. Another specimen of Blondea latifolia collected by Leblond, with the collector number 209 (not “ 219 ”) is at G (G00104361). Therefore, a lectotype is hereafter designated.
