A REVIEW ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER IN PULAU MANTANANI BESAR, KOTA BELUD, SABAH

The exploitation of Wave Energy Converter (WEC) with a large number of devices may have a major impact on wave in coastal areas. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a global environmental management tool. The development of WEC has affected environmental research in EIA. In Malaysia, the EIA is required for the activities specified in the Environmental Quality (Prescribed Activities) (Environmental Impact Assessment) order 1987. The objective of this paper is to establish the list environmental possible threat and to investigate the environmental impact of WEC construction project impleme... Mehr ...

The objective of this paper is to establish the list environmental possible threat and to investigate the environmental impact of WEC construction project implementation in Port Kuantan Pahang and identify which suitable method for this WEC project. This research method is a descriptive. Field surveys, case studies and surveys were conducted to collect data from Marine department, Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Jabatan Laut, Port Kuantan engineer. Collect the required data through a library approach, such as theoretical and conceptual frameworks research, documentation and censuses. Finally, the results are inferred by basic statistical analysis. The expected outcome of this project is conduct list of environmental impact assessment of WEC project during the construction phase. There will be a proposed investigation steps to overcome this project.
