A series of defensive updates projects took place from 1720 within the Sardinian fortification system. The Sabaudo’s government was involved in restoration works of the coastal defensive system and extension of Cagliari and Alghero stronghold circuit. Santa Croce western 16th century bastioned front of Cagliari was object to extension and modifications.
