Frosts and high temperatures are a problem for potato producers in the Sabana de Bogotá, frosts have caused great economic losses, for this reason was made a characterization of these phenomena carried out on an annual, monthly and hourly basis. To make this characterization, data from conventional and automatic IDEAM stations were used, automatic stations do not have quality control, for this reason was necessary to perform a quality control. The information provided by the automatic stations is very useful because analysis can be done hourly which allowed a comparison with the regional climate model. The WRF model was selected as the model that best fits the needs of the study. The WRF model has different parameterizations to solve specific phenomena, several of these parameterizations were tested to find the best combination of these compared to the values observed by the automatic stations. As a result, two configurations icm and icm-mp_physics 3 were obtained. It was found that the model with the two configurations is capable of reproducing the daily temperature cycle. Regarding the performance of the model reproducing the temperature conditions, it was found that the model presented good results reproducing the high temperatures, but did not present good results reproducing the frosts, because the model did not generate temperature values lower than 0 ◦ C. ; Las heladas y altas temperaturas son una problemática para los productores de papa en la Sabana de Bogotá, ya que las heladas en especial han causado grandes pérdidas económicas, por esta razón se realizó una caracterización de estos fenómenos a nivel anual, mensual y horario.
