Knowing and analyzing the way students of Universidad de La Sabana speak, as well as the meaning of their language according to their gender identity, has become the scope of this research. The Potter and Wetherell"s proposal for discourse analysis has been used in it. The results obtained show that men as well as women use just a few words when they speak. It also shows that their affection expressions don"t mean exactly what they want to say, but they do reveal some attitudes as regard their ethics and moral values. We conclude that the way students communicate with their professors is different from the way they speak to their classmates.
