This paper presents a comparative study between Ernesto Sábato and José Saramago on the notion of blindness. Text ethnography was carried out with two literary works, of the fictional genre, that approach the problematic of the lack of an organ of perception, its effects on the body and the social environment, beyond a descriptive approach proposed an interpretive analysis, for which Le Breton will be used, who from his anthropology of the body will provide the theoretical bases on the understanding of the eyes as the organs of distancing. The ideas about perception from anthropology give us glimpses of ways of life, that is to say, the question is whether the human being is through what he perceives, interprets and eventually communicates and we will unquestionably tend to give affirmative answers.
