A late Maastrichtian species of Gisilina (Brachiopoda, Chlidonophoridae) from the Maastricht area (The Netherlands, Belgium) first illustrated by FAUJAS DE SAINT-FOND

In the early nineteenth century, Faujas de Saint-Fond illustrated numerous species of brachiopod from the Maastricht area (southern Limburg, The Netherlands). Amongst these, two specimens subsequently held to be conspecific, were selected by von Schlotheim as types of his Terebratulites chrysalis. To date, one of these is considered by many authors to be the original illustration to Terebratulina chrysalis (VON SCHLOTHEIM, 1813); the other specimen illustrated by Faujas appears to have fallen into oblivion.
