Ordem Branca: A Racialização do Espaço Público: Reflexões sobre o Caso Holandês ; White Order: Racialisation of Public Space in the Netherlands

In this essay we argue that urban planning and spatial ordering effectively enact violence upon historically racialized populations in the Netherlands. We will highlight the entanglement between security, coercion and care in Dutch contemporary public discourses and urban policy. Our analysis will depart from a reading of ‘Planning as War by Other Means’ (Tesfahuney and Eke) alongside with ‘Low Intensity Ethnic Cleansing in the Netherlands’ (Paul and Siebers).
