Background/Aims: Anticoagulation of the extracorporeal circuit is essential for adequate haemodialysis (HD). Low molecular weight heparins (LMWHs) are safe and sufficient towards achieving this goal. In the Netherlands, dosage is based on bodyweight and adjusted based on clinical events.
