Refugees and social security: the personal scope of the National Old Age Pensions Act (AOW) in the Netherlands

The contribution to this report considers access to social insurances and benefits. Refugees are entitled to social insurances and benefits, provided that they are qualified as resident of the Netherlands. For instance, the refugee needs to qualify as a resident and an insured person to be entitled to build up AOW-benefits (the Dutch basic state old-age pension).
