The implementation of national action program diabetes in the Netherlands: lessons learned

BACKGROUND: Over the past decade, the National Action program Diabetes (NAD) was implemented in the Netherlands. Its aim was to introduce the Care Standard (CS) for diabetes by means of a specific implementation plan and piloting in several regions.
